Operating procedures for each piece of equipment

Specific operating procedures should be established for each piece of equipment used by the company. Employees should be trained using these operating procedures to ensure consistency of training.

Heat stress/cold stress

Certain occupations may require very specific employee training, equipment, and procedures to prevent either heat stress or cold stress on the employees. Such occupations may include construction, meat packing, foundry, landscaping, etc. The employer is required to evaluate any potential hazards (including heat and cold) and develop procedures to protect their employees.

Radiation (ionizing, non-ionizing)

This area may include the use of lasers on construction sites, employees repairing scanning equipment, medical/dental X-rays, ultraviolet radiation (sun) for workers outside, and radar/communication equipment.

Workplace Safety Inspections

Workplace safety inspections are thorough, systematic, and documented examinations of a workplace to identify and eliminate risky behaviors and potential hazards. The goal is to prevent accidents, injuries, and illnesses.

Our safety inspections are performed by experienced consultants who have a keen understanding of safety best practices and are highly knowledgeable in local, state and federal safety regulations.

CAL/OSHA CITATION DEFENSE

You received a Cal/OSHA Citation. Should I appeal? YES. It is your right! However, you must act without delay as it can lead to costly consequences.

SAFETYACUITY understands the full ramifications of a Cal/OSHA citation affecting your business’s ability to do business in a variety of ways. The penalties associated with unchallenged citations can greatly affect your profitability. For example, a serious citation can result in heavy penalties ranging from hundreds to $18,000–$25,000.

Our experienced team of consultants are well-equipped to address the unique needs of each of our clients while working hard to achieve the most favorable outcome possible.

There are also serious implications of future citations for the same or similar violation within five (5) years that can result in a citation classified as Repeat, with penalties multiplied by two for a first repeat and multiplied by ten for a third repeat. If Cal/OSHA believes the citation should be classified as Willful, the standard penalty will be multiplied by five, “not to exceed” $142,692.

The final results can threaten your ability to compete and qualify for contracts and will be public record.
